This large vintage ceramic bowl designed by Eva Zeisel for her Hallcraft collection in 1957 is a a teardrop shape. It was designed for the porcelain giant which was the Hall China Company. It remained in production until the end of the decade. It has the adornment of a butterfly, leaf and flower. Against the off white ceramic colors are pinky red, charcoal black, yellow, pink and tan. This is perfect for serving. It is a beautiful shape and delicately detailed. MId Century Modern.
Eva Zeisel was an Hungarian- American born industrial designer known for her works in ceramics. Her work is included in major museum collections. She lived a long life until the ripe age of 105 in 2011. In 2011 she received and won the lifetime achievement award from the Cooper-Hewitt Museum.
